PAKENHAM Lions’ supporters flocked in droves to Toomuc Reserve on Saturday – and they didn’t leave disappointed.

The Lions stormed home to a 58-point win against Doveton, claiming the 2009 Casey-Cardinia League premiership cup.

The Doves had a better day in the twos, winning a third consecutive premiership with a 24-point victory over Beaconsfield.

In the netball, Beaconsfield overwhelmed Pakenham with a 27-goal win in the A Grade competition, while the Lions took out the B and C Grade pennants.

Police praised the Casey-Cardinia League and Pakenham Lions Club officials for their running of the event which attracted a strong crowd.

“We were extremely happy with the crowd’s behaviour,” Acting Senior Sergeant Paul Bruders said.

“There were a couple of people who got ejected for alcohol-related offences but there was no violence.”
