A MAN was rushed to hospital on Friday morning after a cow threw him in a Brooklyn abattoir.

Advanced life support paramedics and intensive care paramedics were called to the abattoir just before 9.30am.

The 28-year-old suffered chest injuries and cuts after he was struck and landed on concrete.

Paramedic Darren Burne said the cow hit him on the side and threw him backwards across its back.

“He has pain to his chest so there is a possibility he has fractured some ribs,” he said.

Paramedics put a drip in his arm and gave him oxygen and pain relief.

He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital and is in a stable condition.
