ON 5 February Berwick Senior Citizens had their first meeting of the year, and it was good to see a large assembly of friends.

In fact, except for those away on holidays, there was nearly a 100 per cent attendance, apart from Lucy Dickinson, Stan Clayton and Juliet Carreck.

There was the usual getting the tables right, and the other small things put in place, but we started out in good shape.

President Isabella Price welcomed members to the New Year. There is to be a meeting of all Senior Citizens clubs next Thursday, where she will represent Berwick, and get the problems with meals sorted out.

At the meeting, the door prizes went to Wilma James and Alice Haynes. Hilda Boening won the meat tray, and the voucher was won by Betty Gould.

Following the meeting, the club enjoyed bingo, and the games were won by Lorna Bird (twice), Hilda Boening, Norma Fournier, Alice Haynes (again twice), Aileen Sweet (also twice), Audrey Appleyard and Isobel Jaeger-Glover.
